Recent events from Albania

On February 11, Gezim Spahija, Kurt Plagenhoef and Nuccio Siragusa shared in a Balkans Missions Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Many pastors and missions directors were touched with the vision and passion of God to reach the Balkans with the gospel, a place where over 99% of the people are unreached. They met with Brazilian AG leaders to discuss more cooperation between the Brazilian and Albanian AG movements and to request more Brazilian missionaries in the Balkans. The response was enthusiastic.

On March 14, we hosted a Muslim ministry seminar at Evangelical Theological College in Tirana with David Shenk. David Shenk has served as a missionary to Africa, pastor in America, Eastern Mennonite missions director, and is a well known theologian and missiologist for dialog between Christian and Muslim leaders around the world. It was a great opportunity to hear the teaching and interact with Dr. Shenk about building relationships and sharing the gospel with Muslims.

From March 17-19, we celebrated the annual Missions Conference at Evangelical Theological College. Missionary speakers from America, El Salvador and South Africa challenged the students and other guests to obey the great commission. Many were touched through worship, the word and prayer to commit themselves to the mission of God to reach those who have never heard the good news.

The 2nd annual Balkan Youth Conference was held in Durres from March 20-22.  Over 200 young people from Albania, Italy, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia attended the conference and many expressed their willingness to answer the call of God to the nations.

From April 13-17, Missions Week, we will send prayer and evangelism teams to Kosovo/Montenegro, Macedonia and Turkey. Please pray for God to use these teams of Bible school students and other believers to make a lasting impact in these areas.
